Rescue Foundation India is a non-profit organisation that plays a crucial role in the fight against human trafficking in India.

Founded with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate victims of trafficking and forced prostitution, Rescue Foundation operates across major cities in India, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune.

Key Activities of Rescue Foundation India:

Rescue Operations: Conducts raids in brothels and places of exploitation in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to rescue victims.

Rehabilitation: Provides safe shelter, medical care, psychological counseling, and vocational training to help survivors rebuild their lives. Reintegration: Assists survivors in reintegrating into society by offering educational opportunities and job placements.

Impact Stats: Since its inception, Rescue Foundation has rescued over 5,000 victims and continues to provide essential support to countless individuals in need.

In 1993, when Mr. Balkrishna & Mrs. Triveni, went to rescue one girl and fourteen more came forth, , they realized that there was more work to be done.

After helping the rescued girls get back to their home country in Nepal, they learnt that there were possibly thousands of girls trafficked to India from Nepal alone.

They partnered with Maiti Nepal, an anti-trafficking NGO in Nepal and with their support, establised Maiti Nepal Mumbai to begin their journey.

After numerous rescue operations and firsthand experience of the magnitude of the problem, they learned that apart from Nepal, there were girls from various states in India like West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan and even Bangladesh who were vulnerable to traffickers.

Mr. Balkrishna and Mrs. Triveni decided it was time to scale up their rescue operations and started afresh with the blessings of Maiti Nepal, by establishing the Rescue Foundation in Mumbai.

With the establishment of Rescue Foundation, it was time to move forward.

Balkrishna & Triveni dived headfirst in the underbelly of the dark world of trafficking and started to make a name for themselves.

There were hundreds of girls being rescued and the couple was getting stronger, they had even established a core team.

Gradually, their success drew the support of many who were willing to contribute to their cause. In 2003, with the support of several key partners, the first Shelter home in Kandivali, Mumbai was inaugurated.

This was to provide a safe haven for 100 survivors.

On 12th may 2005, while returning from a rescue operation, our beloved founder and father, Mr. Balkrishna Acharya, met with a fatal accident. This was the darkest time for the organization, as the staff, and the girls, had lost their strongest pillar. All our partners, staff, and girls came together to overcome his passing. Mrs.Triveni mourned his loss for a period but soon strengthened her resolve to continue on the path they had started together.

Since the loss of Mr. Balkrishna, the entire team of Rescue Foundation rallied together with Mrs. Triveni and pushed forward with everything they had, to realise the vision he left behind.

They grew rapidly, and in 2008 established their second home in Boisar.

A year later Mrs. Triveni inaugurated their Pune home and in 2017, the fourth home in Delhi was inaugurated.

Each year we were able to care for over 500 women and girlswhich was all possible due to the generous contributions of our key partners.

With over 6000 lives rescued from trafficking, Triveni and her team are aware that there are still tens of thousands of victims of trafficking across the country who still need support.

Triveni is still undeterred in the mission she and Balkrishna had started out almost 30 years ago and holds the flag high as her team works tirelessly everyday, to help build a world without slavery, one life at a time.
